Claimed by Love by Melissa Foster (release tour)

Voices Carry: A Rock and Roll Fantasy - Diane Rinella

I got this book as for an honest review and here is my review

Story
An incredible romance involving a man, the music he craves, and the voice that haunts him.

Rock and roll turns Brandon Wayne into a juvenile delinquent in all the best ways—crazed, ambitious, and with a slip of danger nagging at his hips. His marketing job at Endeara Candies and hunting down classic vinyl nirvana at Warped Records make his world seem ordinary, but there is another side to his life.

As an anniversary of tragedy approaches, odd occurrences riddle Brandon’s mind with questions. Whose voice is suddenly materializing in his head? Is he fabricating a psychic who looks like one of his favorite rock stars? Why is he having retro dreams involving welded beer cans, disco, and a punk rock girl? The puzzle seems never ending.

Have the musty fumes at Warped Records and the terrible candy at work rotted Brandon’s brain? Has he crossed into the realm of insanity? Or is the reason for the madness beyond his comprehension?

Voices Carry is a standalone novel that takes place in the Rock and Roll Fantasy universe, alongside Scary Modsters and its prequel, It’s A Marshmallow World.

My Thoughts
This is a readable story that I enjoyed reading. The story is well written and well build. It was a pleasure reading the book and I was hooked into the story very early. The way Diane builds up the story and how she paints such a vivid image only using her words. This makes the book good and very enjoyable.

This is the first book I read from Diane and I sure want to read more from her because this book really shows talent. The way you get to know the characters and how she build them is also very nice. You can picture them and you get to bond with them too in a perfect way.

I can recommend the story to others because I did really enjoyed the book.

THE FOUNDERS (Book 1 of the Sage Seed Chronicles) by Holly Barbo (book review)

So This is my review for this awesome book. I got the book for an honest review and as I previously have stated, I always leave honest review. for information about the book and the author, please look at my previous post. this is more or less "only" the review.

Review
this is a very good and interesting young adult fantasy book and the first in a series. I like how the story is build up and the intrigues in the book. It shows that it is a lot of planning to get the story so good as it is. I enjoyed reading it and felt drawn in pretty quickly.

For me, as an adult, this is a pretty quick read and even if it wasnt I would try to read it in one go because it is really good and it is very hard to put it down when you finally have started reading it.

I think the characters in the book is very well developed and felt real and I had no problem bonding and connect with them and the story. Sometimes characters in fantasy can be hard to get or grasp but that is not the case here. I really enjoyed the characters in the book.

This shows good potential for the other books in the series and I cant wait to read them. This is a great young adult book and I can recommend it. Some adult may find it easy and boring but I didnt so you can read it and love it even as an adult.

DEADLY DUNES Book 3 of A Mac McClellan Mystery series

The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials #2) - Philip Pullman (book review)

So the second book review for the day. I am surprised I am writing this one because I have done so much work but I want to write this before I start with the third book in the series. I have choosen to write this review WITHOUT spoilers. I have on goodread my review where you can read the review with and without spoilers so feel free to do so. Here is the LINK to the review on Goodreads

Story
In this stunning sequel to The Golden Compass, the intrepid Lyra finds herself in a shimmering, haunted otherworld—Cittagazze, where soul-eating Specters stalk the streets and wingbeats of distant angels sound against the sky. But she is not without allies: twelve-year-old Will Parry, fleeing for his life after taking another's, has also stumbled into this strange new realm.

On a perilous journey from world to world, Lyra and Will uncover a deadly secret: an object of extraordinary and devastating power. And with every step, they move closer to an even greater threat--and the shattering truth of their own destiny.

My Thoughts
This is the second book in the series and it is very different from the first part. Here we get to follow different characters from the first book and meet some new and this is something I like because they are all important to the story and you get to know them better.

This book is really full of surprises which I found very funny and it gave depth to the story. The new characters is ver nicely written and fits the story perfectly. I love how things change and how we as readers change out minds and point of view while reading this book.

I HATE Philip Pullman for making me cry and cry. I was so heartbroken but still, book that makes you feel is good for you even if crying isnt always what you want to do.

The book is written in the same great way as the first one and is a really good young adult fantasy book and I am so inlove with the series.

After reading this book I cant wait to start with the third book. I just hope work let me because I want to know how it goes for Lyra and all the others. I also hope and wish we get to meet Iorek again.

DEADLY DUNES (A Mac McClellan Mystery #3) - E.Michael Helms (book review)

Time for a book review and I wish I had time for a long review but my bad health and workload dont make it possible but I still want to write something about this book because I got it for an honest review.

Story
Hours after hiring Mac McClellan to investigate the supposed suicide of her archaeologist brother, single-mom Jessie dies in a car accident. Jessie had just showed Mac artifacts and a copy of a map Jake found, items that indicate Hernando de Soto and his explorers might have camped on Five Mile Island during the winter of 1539-1540. Studying the map, Mac determines the site lies in the middle of a planned resort, The Dunes. Declaring the area an historic site could shut the project down. Suspicions aroused, he forges ahead, even though he no longer has a paying client.

Everywhere Mac turns, greed abounds, and no one he interviews seems innocent, even Jessie's closest friends the Deckers, who have adopted her teenage daughter. Ron Decker's construction company is building the Dunes, and he is heavily invested in its success. Then there is the oily son and ex-stripper wife of an old curmudgeon who won't sell the one lot the project still needs to acquire. Jake's estranged wife Laurel had plenty to gain from his death, and as Mac continues to dig, he begins to wonder if Jessie herself had more at stake than he was led to believe.

No one is happy about Mac's persistence, and someone is unhappy enough to crash his truck and frame him for yet another murder. But Mac isn't giving up, no matter what the cost.

Book 3 in the Mac McClellan Mystery series.

My Thoughts
This is a book I enjoyed reading even if it isnt on of my favorite reads. The story is holding up well and as a reader it is easy to get into the story but I dont know, I got bored in the book. The book didnt really talk to me and gave me anything new. It felt like I had read the story before but in different versions. The book is in no way bad, but it wasnt my coup of tea.

Bad Boys for Hire: Ken (Bad Boys for Hire Series, #2) - Rachelle Ayala (book review)

This is a new book that I got the chance to beta read. It will be relised as a shorter novel in  Summer Heat box and a longer version in June. It is the second book in the Bad Boys for Hire series by the awesome Rachelle Ayala.

Story
After Jolie Becker is left at the altar, her friends secretly hire a handsome beach bum to cheer her up.

When an accident ends his professional surfing career, Ken Cassidy wants nothing more than to land an acting role. Little does he know, his best acting job will be helping a jilted bride get her confidence back.

Everything changes when love kicks in. Will Jolie believe Ken’s feelings are real when she discovers he's the hired help?

My Thoughts

This story is so different from the first book, it is steady and romantic and full of wonders and even if things are going on, it is not as full of action as the first one. Does this make the book bad? Of curse not, that its different dont make it bad, it gives it another depth and this story is different and should be different because it has different characters. Jolie is a different person with a different life and I love how OCD she is and how it effects the entire book. It made me laught and also how Ken treats her and wants her to make her happy made my heart melt.

This is a very sweet love story that takes place in Hawaii, at least most of it, and even if it is the typical honeymoon Hawaii, it is perfect for the book and story and is, as I think, it should be. The settings and how they all act is just perfect and the slow and steady phase made me get to know the characters, feel for them and bond with them in a different way then with the characters in the previous book.

I love this story and I can really recommend it, I know that both the shorter version and the longer print version will be awesome and I really recommend people do buy it and read it.

Strife Of The Mighty: Book One Of The Chronicles Of Vrandalin (The Læl Chronicles, #1) - Julius Bailey

Story

A HUSBAND. A LIQUOR LOVER. A STRANGER. THE DIREST ADVENTURE OF THEIR CENTURY.

For over fifteen hundred years the kingdom of Vrandalin has withstood the might of the one enemy they had need to fear. Now a new threat arises. In the southeastern part of the land, a grim-looking newcomer arrives in the village of Varalel, bringing with him a warning of imminent ruin. Shortly afterward, Varalel is stormed, its folk scattered, and one man is separated from the woman he loves.

Little else matters to Allon Bracken than reuniting with his wife. With nowhere else to turn, he must place his faith in a gruff, mysterious man he knows little of, and an unexpected comrade. But his road is a hard one, and will lead him into dangers and discoveries that will change everything.

It is likely safe to assume that the silver-haired man did not expect events to take such a swift turn when he hasted to Varalel with his warning. But there is no time to curse ill fate. Extenuating circumstances compel him to share Allon’s road—unless it is the other way around—but he quickly finds himself with another goal: the capital must be warned. An army out of legend stamps through the land, goaded by an age-old enchantress with designs of destruction. Time is short. But he must look to himself as well, for a hunted man is rarely at rest, and the terrible creatures that pursue him do not sleep.

And for a former traveling trinket seller deemed village ‘softhead’ by his peers, things are suddenly very horrible indeed. Or are they? It seems that chaos brings folk together. Joined to Allon’s path by an inner impulse, he discovers a companionship he did not expect to find. He will need it.

Enter Vrandalin; a land where ancient powers stir, dark beasts prowl, forgotten lore returns, and those who are thought weak discover their strength.

My Thoughts
This book need a bigger hype than it has in fantasy circles because this is a very good book and a very strong fantasy book who has everything you can ever imagine. It is a typical epic fantasy book but it has so much more than that too and it makes it so awesome.

I got dragged into the story and I love how the writing is done with the book, the way it is written mixed with songs and poems in a very good style. The style reminds me a lot of Lord of the Rings but still it is so much more and different. I love this writing style and how it kidnapped me and turned off the world around me.

The characters is well developed and I felt with them, I loved with them, I went into war with them and so much more with them. It felt like I was part of them and not just an outside viewer, This is something I enjoyed and made the book strong.

I must say the book has a few faults and this take down the review one star but I also know that fantasy series is built up differently and this is a very strong first book and I hope and think the series will go on and be epic and when it happens this book may get better because all question I have may be answered, This book is good for people who love fantasy and also people who likes fantasy BUT dont want to have to much information that make the book "heavy".Some fantasy books and series is so much information that it makes people hate them, this is more a book with a story that is easy to follow and it is nothing bad with that, it can be good and as I said I really enjoyed the book and love it and I cant wait for the rest of the series.

Lyric's Accidental Mate (Iron Wolves MC 1 ~ Bite of the Moon) - Elle Boon (book review)

I love shifter stories and read them a lot and I was told that Elle Boon is a good author when it comes to shifter stories so I tried one of hers and I must say that I enjoyed it.

This is the first book in the series.

Story

Lyric Carmichael is a shifter needing to get out from under her overprotective brother's thumb. When a pack of rogue wolves attacked her, she knew she would have to fight for her life.

A Badass Soldier

Rowan Shade was a member of the Special Forces, and had fought many battles, so wading into the fight to save a gorgeous woman was second nature. But being bitten by Lyric in order to save him from a fate worse than death, and finding out that there was super natural beings, took a backseat to the bond he felt for the alluring creature.

A Love Beyond Reason

As Rowan and Lyric explore their new relationship, the danger to the pack intensifies. When they find out one of their own has betrayed them, they'll need the strength and help of the entire MC in order to survive.

My Thoughts

It was by accident I found this book and I am not sorry I did because the story is very nice and entertaining. Lyric is a very strong female that knows what she wants and that is something I really enjoyed reading. She is also a very well developed character with flaws and that made her feel very real.

The first half of the book is really great and has a really great storyline and I was dragged in and intrigued about what was gonna happen but mid in, I got a bit bored, it went from a good story to a lot about sex and the story becames second hand things. It was all rushed when it came to the main story and a bit too easy if you compare it to the first half of the book. The sex was in the center and this is something I can find okay if it is good written and at first it was but it felt forced after a while.

I still enjoyed the book and like it and can recomend it and I want to read the second book in the story because it is a really interesting story and a good writing style and even if I got a bit bored I have had worse and I want to know what is gonna happen in the story.

This is a good shifter book at least the first half of it. I wish the story would be the main focus more than what it is. It is not the best shifter book and not the worse it is an okay book and it is worth reading but you shouldnt expect to much off it if you want a story that is deep and goes on for the entire book. But worth reading and I will read the second part as soon as I can.

The Bridges Before Us: (Fix It or Get Out Book 3) - Christine Ardigo (book review)

Time to reviwe the last installment in this amaying series and it is with sorrow and pain I do it because the series reallz spoke to me and touched me.

Story
Stifled by her narcissistic mother, twenty-four-year-old Samantha Hart is tired of putting her life on hold. Determined to find her own happiness, she volunteers within the community. Who’d ever guess her good deeds would land her in trouble? Frustrated and at a loss, Samantha decides a walk on the wild side might do her some good.

Intrigued by the scandalous lifestyle of her dynamic coworker Cara, Samantha attempts to transform herself into Cara’s sinful image. But, as she finds her new path meaningless and hollow, she looks for someone with better judgment to steer her in the right direction, and it’s someone she least expects. Can Samantha trust a man who hates everything about her, or does he see beneath the bad girl façade?

A romance like no other, The Bridges Before Us, teaches us to love ourselves, embrace who we are, and never change for the sake of pleasing others.

My Thoughts
This book is as amazing as the two before them and it captured me just as quick as the other two books this. The story is really well developed and felt really real and it was easy to follow. The mix between love, pain and being a strong women is just the perfect combination. The language drives the story forward and drags the reader in, with the story. Just as the two book before this one is funny and sad and strong and everything at once without being to little or to much. The balance is really good and you are on a emotional roller coaster during the read but I dont want it in any other way.

I am happy I found this series and this book is a little bit of my favorite in the series even if I love all 3 of them. The story is in many ways unique but also well known. The reader get to experience new things, feel and question its own believes just like I think all good books do. And just like after reading a really good book, I got the feeling of "what shall I do with my life now" when i had finished this series. I didnt know what to feel or think and I couldnt pick up another book becaues this books made me think and still makes me think. I go back and think about situations in the books and in this book and wonder if I have everything figured out in my life or if I can learn something from this books, and now we are talking fiction and not "help yourself books" even if I sort off feel that this book is good for you and for your soul.

So obviously I cant do anything other than give all three books top reviews and 5 starts but sometimes I wish I could give more because some other 5 star books feels weak compared to this series. I read them as e-book and now I have to save money so I can buy them as paperbacks because they are really awesome and I can see myself going back and reread them more than once so I want them as paperback so I can see them and love them all the time. I read the entire series in one day, it really captured me and I think more readers will feel the same so pick them up and read them. This last one can be read as a stand alone just as the second one even if they are in a series. I often say that people should read a book but this is not a "should read book" or "put on my to read list" this is a book and series you should read NOW because it is one of the best conteperary, romance, funny, sad, books and series I have read in a very long time.

Torn between losing each other again, and the emotions they can no longer suppress, they launch into a love affair more powerful than they ever imagined. Spending their days on the beach and their nights in each other’s arms, Heather discovers what true love is, and knows she must leave Lance.
With love this perfect, what could tear them apart a second time?
Heather and Nicolo continue to cross paths every five years, giving them the opportunity to recover what they lost. Will they ever reach out and grasp what was meant to be, or will their fears continue to keep them apart?

My Thoughts
After reading the first book in this series I was so amazed that I straight away started reading the second one, this one who is about Heather and Nicolo. I didnt think a book or series could be better than the first book and normally the second is a little bit slower than the first but NOT in this case. This book is as good as the first one and in some ways better because we get to know Heather and Nicolo better and deeper and that is something I enjoyed.

The humor that was in the first book of the series is in this one too and I really enjoyed it. There where a number of times where I just couldnt stop laughing. The book is not just laugh it is full off entrigues and love and romance too. I find the mix of things in this book prefect and intriguing.

I really enjoyed this book and it is really a book to read. It is the perfect follow up to a first awesome book. I really love this series a lot. read the story, read the series, you will not get disappointed.

Story
Can Cheating on Your Husband Bring Unimaginable Pleasure or Completely Destroy your World?

To her three daughters, Heather is a fun-loving, silly mom. Her co-workers at Norlyn Plains Hospital think she has it all, including a handsome lawyer husband.
But when a flirtatious new doctor chooses Heather to spend his down time with, he reminds her of the man she regrettably gave up so many years before. Each interaction breathes new life into her and she gives in to the doctor’s seductions, threatening her fifteen year marriage.
Her co-workers Victoria and Catherine, are stunned by her actions, but when they see the positive transformation in Heather, and question their own crumbling marriages, they wonder if she has the right idea.

Can cheating on their husbands bring the three of them happiness? Or will they be destroyed by the consequences?

My Thoughts
I must confess that I am surprised about this book and how it is told and the style in the book. It was not what I had expected and it took me by surprise but I must say that it made the book more memorable and the style fit the story very well, surprisingly well even. The book is very well written and the language is very well used to make the plot and twist in the book outstanding. The language helps to drive the story line and the story line is very realistic so it is easy to get drawn in to the book and get hooked. I read all 3 books in a day and that is not common for me to do but I couldnt get enough when I got into the book and into the story.

This book also challenged me and my viewings because I hate cheating and finds no excuse what so ever for it, but when I read this book I could put myself in the womens perspective and I sort of understood why they did it and what drove them to the point of doing what they did. I was so surprised who I could do this and still have my thoughts about cheating and well that hasnt changed but this gave me another perspective of things and what drives people into doing what they do.

Even if this book may sound heavy and dark it is not only that, it is romantic, it is funny and yes I laughed too. So the way the author can write a story that is kind of heavy and isnt the most easy subject and still make the book so awesome is something special and really good. I enjoyed the book a lot and I hope that I one day will have enough money over to buy this one and the rest as paperback because they are so good even if they challenge your views and perspective of life and makes you see things in different lights.

If you havent read this book yet, you have missed something because I felt like I had missed something when I was finished with it. Like Why hadnt I read this before?  So this book is a really really good book and a must read book.

But can he also trust her with his heart?

My Thiughts
I must say that I have started to enjoy the Kindle worlds novellas and this is not an exeptions. The story is steaming hot with a lot of romance but is very well written with an good and interesting story line. This was for me a quick read, which was what I needed at the moment. The story quickly captured me and I read it in one go. I really enjoyed reading it and it left a smile on my lips afterwards.

I think the story is well balanced with well written characters. The characters felt real and it was easy to bond with them and feel with them. It was very natural to read about them and that is something I enjoyed. It was not to much over the top like some things can be. It had a very good level and I enjoyed that.

The phase in the story is quick but it was perfect for this story. The phase made the story easy to read and it drove the story onward and made it even more fun to read. some stories is supposed to be slower and this is one of the stories that benefits from a faster phase to lure the reader in and to make the reader want more and read more.
