Edge of the Heat 1 - Lisa Ladew (book rewive)

After reading books that are heavier its nice with some easy and light romance reading. I got remmoneded the series Edge of the Heat and got the first book. The first book is free on Amazon, just get it here or buy it as paperback here

Story
Emma Hill had been off the dating scene for 7 years, thanks to her crazy ex-husband. But then she falls off of a building and has a vision of the man who will change all of that. Too bad it happened just before a man who seems to be perfect for her in every way (but can't be the man in the vision) comes and sweeps her off her feet. Tall, strong, handsome Craig Masterson with dimples to die for is in town investigating murder and corruption at the highest levels. Only after he falls for Emma does he find out she used to be married to the dirtiest cop on the force. She's not dirty, he's sure of that, but after she rejects him twice he thinks he's done with her. Can Emma learn to follow her heart before she loses Craig forever? And will her ex-husband get in the way again or will he finally meet his match in Craig?

My thoughts
I like reading romance because they are normally very funny and relaxing even if a few is so out of this world when it comes to the story. But here we have a good storyline that shows that the author have very good knowledge of what she is writing about, this makes this book more than a normal romance book.

I really enjoy this first book and I will read the rest of them. The story is good and this one has a story. Many books dont have a good storyline and that can annoy me pretty badly Emma is a strong woman and I like strong female characters. in to many books the woman is weak and dont work for herself or for her own life, Emma does even if she sometimes is very stupid and naive but I think we all are.

I can really recommend this book. I mean, I read it in a few hours because I couldnt really stop reading it and that is the best reward a book can get.

The Prague Cemetery - Umberto ECO (book review)

Just finished this amazing book so now I need to write my review of it and hope you all will read it.

Buy the Book here

Story (From Amazon)

19th-century Europe—from Turin to Prague to Paris—abounds with the ghastly and the mysterious. Conspiracies rule history. Jesuits plot against Freemasons. Italian republicans strangle priests with their own intestines. French criminals plan bombings by day and celebrate Black Masses at night. Every nation has its own secret service, perpetrating forgeries, plots, and massacres. From the unification of Italy to the Paris Commune to the Dreyfus Affair to The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, Europe is in tumult and everyone needs a scapegoat. But what if, behind all of these conspiracies both real and imagined, lay one lone man? What if that evil genius created its most infamous document?

My Thought

I cant even know where I should start talking about this book. It is one of the greatest book I have read so far. It has everything a good book should have.

Well maybe I should start from the beginning. It took a little while for me to get into the book, a lot because the way of ECOs way of writing and that he has a lot of terms in French and I dont speak French but after a while I got into it and into the story and the deeper I got in, the more I love it. The story is twisted and perpelx with views from 20 different person, or is it one? after reading the book I know :P

The story has a lot of history in it and it is fun to read it and I checked up a few things in the book and it is correct even if it is a fictional book. The Prague Cemetery that the book is about do exist and I have visited it myself during this book to gain more knowledge and because I wanted to. I did that because I now live in Prague even if I hope we can move soon.

Well anyway. the story was a bit tough to get into but when I did I couldnt stop reading the book. I have read it very quickly and I am sad that it is gone now. The language is in English with phrases in French and even some Latin.  a few is translated but most isnt but for me this didnt desturbe the story. It made it deeper. I have a good knowledg of English but still I some trouble but that is because English isnt my native language. To read this book in English you need to have good knowledge in the Language otherwise I think it will to be advanced. but the use of the language makes the book even better.

If you want a book that has a great but slightly weird storyline, a lot of historical event, lauges and thirll, this is a book you should read. I can compleatly understand why this book is so loved and have won great rewards because this book is just really really good, both how it is written, language and the story.

This is a well recommended book.

Fangirl: A Novel - Rainbow Rowell (Book Review)

Time for another book review and this time it a book for young adults. Its Fangirl: A Novel by Rainbow Rowell.

Buy it from Amazon as a a Paperback here

Story (from Amazon)

In Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl, Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan, but for Cath, being a fan is her life--and she's really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it's what got them through their mother leaving.

Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.

Cath's sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can't let go. She doesn't want to.
Now that they're going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn't want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She's got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words . . . And she can't stop worrying about her dad, who's loving and fragile and has never really been alone.

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this?

Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories?

And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

My Thoughts
I got this book as a gift due the title. I am a fangirl of many things and I dont think my friend who gave it to me read what this book was about. I have no previous knowledg about Simon Snow, I know I feel like I am old, but that didnt do anything. I still read and enjoyed the book and I got really interesting in Simon Snow and have though about reading the books now after reading this one.

The bonus content is parts of Simon Snow and it helped me as a reader to understand the book better.Rowell is a very good author who makes this book funny and still have a lot of thoughts in it. The characters feels real, with real life and real problems. The reality aspect is good and makes the book very nice. its another perspective of a series of books about magic.

Maybe this book isnt for me as an adult but still, you can read and enjoy the book just as I did. If you love Simon Snow, this is absolutly something for you to read and for young adults who love Simon Snow it is a perfect book too. I can recooment this book even if it i easy read for us adults.

Hot For The Holidays (21 Holiday Short Stories): A Collection of Naughty And Nice Holiday Romances

The Neon Rain - James Lee Burke (Book review)

Hello everyone. Time for another book review. I have read a few books and will do them in order and start with this one, Its a crime book.

Story (borrowed from amazon.com)
Detective Dave Robicheaux has fought too many battles: in Vietnam, with killers and hustlers, with police brass, and with the bottle. Lost without his wife's love, Robicheaux's haunted soul mirrors the intensity and dusky mystery of New Orleans' French Quarter -- the place he calls home, and the place that nearly destroys him when he becomes involved in the case of a young prostitute whose body is found in a bayou. Thrust into the world of drug lords and arms smugglers, Robicheaux must face down a subterranean criminal world and come to terms with his own bruised heart in order to survive.

My thoughts
So this book sounds very interesting and I thought it would be a very good book. It has had very good reviews before so I didnt hesitate to buy it when I saw it on sale. I started reading and I got very very bored very quickly  The story is good but it is way to long, and I dont mean the book is thick or anything, I mean that the story itself is short but the author has decided to put in so much rubbish and bullshit into the book that isnt interesting for the story so, accordint to me, fill it out.

The author has a very good english and uses it very well but sometimes I wonder why the heck he is talking about. I have a master in English and have studied literature at university level and NON of my teacher in either English or literature would approve of this (ab)use of the language. and punktuation, almost lacking and ONE scentence can be almost a whole page and mid in, you have no idea what you have written.

there is more about the war in Vietnam in this book than it is about the crime and the investigation of it. I dont understand how this book can have gotten so good reviews because the story is limited and the story that is about the crime and investigation isnt unique. its very common and plain and follows what you can find in any crime novel. if you look at the war description, its not uniqueue either.

This book is, according to me, a big waste of time. Its mediocer with a very thin story with way to much nonsens in it. I think this book will be useful if you want to light a fire or somethings but as a novel it really is a waste of time and paper.  I would never ever recommend this book to anyone, ever.
